Review: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #115

The latest issue of the ongoing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series reviewed here from IDW Publishing.

It’s the biggest battle of the year as Bebop and Rocksteady take on Tokka and Rahzar! Meanwhile, Jennika needs to finish forming her band if the future is to be saved. Who she picks as lead singer will surprise you!

Sophie Campbell (Author, Artist, Cover Artist)

In terms of tone, this issue had its ups and downs. The fight scene was played pretty light-heartedly, if you discount the machine gun and chainsaw(!). There was some interesting humour, which included Beebop and Rocksteady playing in a band (more on that) and the way of calming down the two large mutants.

It was well done, though and felt pretty non-stop, even the slower parts had their action and drove this plot forward.

The fight scene was very well laid out, with some chaotic, excellent moments. The moment of realization by Beebop and Rocksteady was expected, but well played nevertheless. The combination of the two idotic mutants and two immature mutants is going to be interesting.

Further on, the tone gets a lot more serious, and I like the way it plays out – having a future set for you can be intimidating, and I hope this leads to a way that this path can be changed. Maybe the band is a good idea!
