Out this week from Rebellion, this is 2000 AD – Prog 2226.
Judge Dredd: The Penitent Man by Kenneth Niemand (w) Tom Foster (a) Chris Blythe (c) Annie Parkhouse (l)
Interesting – It looks like some of what the ex-Judge is saying is true. How far this will go will be good, as Dredd and SJS don’t get on well.
Thistlebone: Poisoned Roots by TC Eglington (w) Simon Davies (a) Simon Bowland (l)
Some more background with the camping trip. The details are slowly coming out. Linking that with the now is very interesting. I’m sure not good things are going to happen.
Visions of Deadworld: The Man Who Killed Mortis by Kek-W (w) Dave Kendall (a) Simon Bowland (l)
Another dark one-shot story from Deadworld. I like the commentary, and the idea of the gold. It’s well done, with a dark ending.
Tharg’s 3rillers: Chorus & The Ring by James Peaty (w) Mike Collins (a) Dylan Teague (c) Annie Parkhouse (l)
A nice introduction/first act. Setting things up nicely for this three-part story. I like the mythos mentioned and mixing the sci-fi tropes with religion is always interesting.
Feral & Foe II by Dan Abnett (w) Richard Elson (a) Jim Campbell (l)
Some fun action with the mixed up bodies. I like the dark humour here, and the stakes for getting things wrong. There seems to be some interesting rules about this use of magic too.
