It’s fantastic to see the return of the legendary La Mariposa. Coming soon to Kickstarter, this collection of stories is a welcome return to this action-packed and amusing set of stories.
I was a backer on the excellent ‘The Demon Gauntlet’ and was a fan after seeing La Mariposa online and comic conventions. Of course I’m going to be a backer of this!
La Mariposa is a rookie masked wrestler walking her Road To Glory, the pilgrimage every luchador must undertake as they seek to build their legend in a world of magic, strangeness and buried secrets…
Inside we get a great selection of stories here, with some perfect humour. The action is well worked and fits with the comic style of the story. I love the art, and there are some excellent facial expressions.
Inside there is a wide selection of characters, some have links with previous stories, and some I would like to see again. There are some well rounded and comical foils to La Mariposa and some returns will be excellent.
There are also some nice teases for the future in these stories, and that makes me smile as that means there is more to come.
In this selection of stories, we get a great mix of monsters – good and bad, human and non-human – struggles, wrestling (of course) ghosts, goats and skeletons. This is a fantastic collection and will make a welcome addition to my bookcase.
