Review: Grimm Fairy Tales #48

The continuing adventures from Skye in her search for Shang continue here in Grimm Fairy Tales #48 from Zenescope Entertainment.

Skye has rounded up nearly all the escapees from the Dark Book. Now, with the help of her friends and the end nearly in sight, she is ready to take down the last one. Don’t miss this action-packed issue as Skye’s new journey draws closer to her endgame!

We’re on our way to the endgame of this Dark Book saga and things seem to be coming together for Skye. It’s good to see the team enjoying themselves, but that is quickly stopped. Harking back to a previous ‘problem’ in the shape of a giant bear, Skye, Jasmine and Sam have their work cut out – even before he brings a friend.

The Dark Book still has its mysteries and this issue adds to them. Skye seems to be getting both a measure of control and a bit more maturity on her role and the way she is.

There is some good action here, with some relevant commentary, it’s well told and well shown with some good emphasis on the near misses.

It does finish with an interesting tease – is this something about the Dark Book, or leading up to a future storyline? The penultimate issue of this arc is up next, so I’m sure we’re find out more.

I’ve enjoyed this arc, it has been slow in some spots, but not many. Hopefully we will see Shang again soon.
