Review: 2000 AD – Prog 2234

A jumping-on point for readers this week with new stories starting. This is 2000 AD Prog 2234 from Rebellion.

Judge Dredd: Adios, Rowdy Yates by Chris Weston (w+a) Annie Parkhouse (l)

A fun one-shot Dredd story for returning fans or new ones. Gives you a look at the citizens of Mega City One, and some of the traditional dark humour. For us older fans, we will always remember Rowdy Yates Block.

Mechastopholes: The Hunting Party by Gordon Rennie, Laurence Rennie (w) Boo Cook (a) Annie Parkhouse (l)

A good reintroduction to Mechastopholes. It sets things up nicely for those who may have not read the first story. Well done, and some great art too.

Department K: Cosmic Chaos by Rory McConville (w) Dan Cornwell (a) Len O’Grady (c) Simon Bowland (l)

Jumping from ‘Regened’ to the adult book, this was well done and adds some fun to it too. I’m interested to see where this goes and if the change to a more adult theme works.

Feral & Foe II by Dan Abnett (w) Richard Elson (a) Jim Campbell (l)

More twists to the tale, but some good dark humour and something that brings the story along. I enjoy the commentary and bickering!

Chimpsky’s Law: The Talented Mr Chimpsky by Kenneth Niemand (w) PJ Holden (a) Chris Blythe (c) Simon Bowland (l)

Great to see Chimpsky in his own title. I like the setup and the internal monologuing going on. This looks to be an interesting mystery.
