Out this week from Rebellion is 2000 AD – Prog 2236, featuring a new Judge Dredd story…
Judge Dredd: Removal Man by John Wagner (w) Colin MacNeil (a) Chris Blythe (c) Annie Parkhouse (l)
An interesting start to this new story. I like the way it was told. The way to shoehorn Dredd in worked well, with a good idea. The sting at the end makes this something I want to read next week.
Mechastopholes: The Hunting Party by Gordon Rennie, Laurence Rennie (w) Boo Cook (a) Annie Parkhouse (l)
This issue allows us to see more of the insides of the demon-powered mech. I like the suspense, and the mystery can’t end well.
Department K: Cosmic Chaos by Rory McConville (w) Dan Cornwell (a) Len O’Grady (c) Simon Bowland (l)
Just when things look like they are sorted, we get another twist. The darts are a nice touch and link to previous stories without it being a big problem for readers who didn’t get the Regened issues.
Chimpsky’s Law: The Talented Mr Chimpsky by Kenneth Niemand (w) PJ Holden (a) Chris Blythe (c) Simon Bowland (l)
Some nice gruesome deaths. I like the way they are dispatched. There are further problems for Chimpsky here, and I wonder how he will get out of it all….
Feral & Foe II by Dan Abnett (w) Richard Elson (a) Jim Campbell (l)
A satisfying end to the story. I like the way it finished here, and the duo working together. There is some excellent art here. Hopefully, we’ll see more of them in the future.
