Review: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #117

The latest issue of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is out now from IDW Publishing.

A winner is crowned in Jennika’s battle of the bands and two old foes make surprising revelations as the TMNT and allies prepare to take Mutant Town in a new direction! Important steps towards the next chapter of the TMNT saga are made here!

Sophie Campbell (Author, Artist, Cover Artist)

The end of an excellent arc. This closed off some of the potential issues for the TMNT, and opened the door for stories in the future.

I really like the way the band was framed, it made it an exciting read. The reaction to the win was well done, with some nice comments by all involved. This issue was low on action, but it had some really good character moments. Especially in the future.

The truce with the Foot may hold, and I like the way Leo works things out. He is continuing to be a good leader. There are some nice hints toward the future, and it looks like we will get the action, the mystical and and the political. There seems to be some good plans ahead for the series.

You can get Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #117 from IDW Publishing digitally on Amazon/ComiXology.
