Review: 2000 AD – Prog 2258

From Rebellion this week is the latest issue of 2000 AD – my thoughts on Prog 2258.

  • UK and DIGITAL: 17 November £3.25
  • NORTH AMERICA: 22 December $26.50 (per pack)
  • DIAMOND: SEP211702
  • COVER: TOBY WILLSMER

Judge Dredd: Tread Softly by Michael Carroll (w) Simon Coleby (a) John Charles (c) Annie Parkhouse (l)

A good finish to this short story, and a new addition to Dredd’s circle of trust. I like the way it was laid out and Dredd’s thoughts here. An interesting addition to the mythos too.

The Diaboliks: London Calling by Gordon Rennie (w) Antonio Fuso (a) Jim Campbell (l)

A tense issue, with some good humour and an interesting finish. Where this is leading, I’m not sure, other than the ending of the previous arc…
That ending is an interesting addition!

Dexter: Bulletopia Chapter Seven – Lordy Jordy, King of Everything by Dan Abnett (w) Tazio Bettin (a) Matt Soffe (c) Simon Bowland (l)

The calm before the storm and a nice reset for the story before we jump into more. I like the finish here, and it makes a good hook for the next issue.

Scarlet Traces: Storm Front by Ian Edginton (w) D’Israeli (a) Simon Bowland

Some good points are made here – the genocide being one of them – and an interesting twist. I do wonder where we are being led here! I love the change in the art/colouring too.

The Out Book 2 by Dan Abnett (w) Mark Harrison (a) Annie Parkhouse (l)

This was an interesting read, and it feels a lot longer than it is. A lot of talking, but interesting nevertheless. The ending is interesting, but I don’t trust what I’m seeing!
