Review – Robyn Hood: Hellfire

From Zenescope Entertainment this week is the latest one-shot adventure. This is Robyn Hood: Hellfire.

On her way back from “vacation,” Robyn finds herself in layover hell…literally. The Hellfire Club is looking for someone with the power to raise a demon king and Robyn just happens to be at the wrong place at the wrong time.

Writer: Joe Brusha
Artwork: Allan Otero

I say this is a one-shot, but it does link into the larger Robyn Hood story that is happening across the Grimm Fairy Tales Universe right now.

Following right after Robyn’s last one-shot adventure, Robyn is stuck on the way home. She meets someone who offers to put her up while she waits and a romance ensues.

Regrettably, Robyn has been spotted by those who wish to raise the demons from Hell, and Robyn, as a (former) child of darkness is useful to their cause.

It’s the former part that causes the problem. Robyn no longer has the darkness in her, and this makes the attack all the more pointless. Nevertheless, it is a good issue and it not only brings the story forward but also adds some new dimensions to Robyn.

She finds someone she likes, and things seem to be going well until it all comes crashing down around her. It does show that Robyn is capable of having these relationships, and I wonder if that will be something further down the line.

The action is frantic and well done here, with some good aspects and an interesting end to it all. The outcome is interesting too, and there is a good sting to the end of the tale.
