Review: Transformers #41

From IDW Publishing, the war continues in Transformers #41.

In “The Landscape of Fear,” the Crystal City, last refuge of the Autobots, is under siege. But with the arrival of last-minute reinforcements, do they have what it takes to turn the tide of battle in their favor? And what of the other threats to Cybertron-Insecticlone swarms, rust worms, and a great evil reborn?!

The return of a titan is a brilliant beginning to this issue, and it gets better. We get a good additional surprise and it is a welcome one to all Transformers fans out there. If this surprise is one, there could be more to follow.

I like the pacing of this issue, it flits from frantic to calm, with some good conversations on both sides. Optimus makes an interesting, but noble decision, and there are plans made to deal with the swarm of Insecticons. I like the way this aspect builds up.

The art is excellent, with some good motion being shown in one of the battles.

This was a good issue and leaves us with something to look forward to.
