Burnt Ends, The Second Issue Of 13 Shots Of Whiskey Out Now

From Markus Pattern is the latest issue of 13 Shots Of Whiskey is now available.

The small town of St Giles is bedeviled by the Burnt Ends killer, but is he responsible for the death of Roxy Jackson? It’s up to Sylvester Bloom to find the truth in this hard boiled detective Neo Noir. Set at the tail end of the 1950’s, in a prim and proper town,  where everyone is a liar, Sylvester is hired to catch Melody Malleck in a divoorce worthy act of infidelity. Melody, not seeing why she should get divorced because her husband is paranoid, makes a deal with Sylvester, and sends him after a bigger scandal, Mayor Dr. David Rickenbacker. Much to the chagrin of Detective Neige, Sylvester’s cousin. A terrible accident and a grotesque cover up sends Sylvester looking for the truth that he knows but can’t prove and eventually after the serial killer that ravages the state of California.

For fans of Blacksad, those Noir Marvel comics, You should have Killed Me, pre DK2 Frank Miller, Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips, Michael Brian Bendis, Brick,  and Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang.

Full of sleaze, sex and gore, Burnt Ends is the 2nd issue of 13 Shots of Whiskey, my self-published anthology series in which I explore my favorite genres. A series of one-shots, I basically want to see if I can create a comic, soup to nuts in 7 weeks, like what Jim Rugg did with Octobriana, and then keep going, like Dave Lapham in Stray Bullets (though without the connective tissue)

The 2nd in a bi monthly series called Thirteen Shots of Whiskey,  the third issue is called Nikal Gaddaar and is the Raid meets Colour of Space action.

About Markus:

Markus Pattern is a cat who draws. A digital comic book artist, with a sketchy, pop art style. If Marvel and anime had a baby. I find myself drawing a lot of horror themed comics. You can find my work in the pages of Not So Fair Tales, the webcomic The Hell It’s My Turn, and a handful of Anthologies

I live in London with my wonderful wife and child. I’ve been making art since I was 13 and I’ve been into comics since I was knee high to a grasshopper.
