From Vault Comics is the final issue of this series. This is Human Remains #8
Will God save the day? The Reverend Hays’ incautious open-air prayer gathering attracts a wide audience–some seeking redemption, some death, others entertainment. But will it also attract huge human-eviscerating monsters? Meanwhile, as Dax and Bisa speak in tongues, plans are afoot to poison all of humanity. Love, faith, monsters and psychedelia in the final issue of Human Remains.

This final issue brings a lot of the dangling threads built up over the previous issues together. The changes in people’s lives have been more evident, and there are some excellent character moments on show here. I especially like the way that these characters’ growth has been shown to change over different times throughout this series.
This issue feels like a new beginning as we get to the end.
There is still a degree of carnage as the monsters are still on the attack, but as people adapt and change in this issue, we see it being managed well, with some excellent scenes and the different points of view.
The people protesting this ‘new normal’ are very interesting, and relevant to today – I like the comment about other countries too – that is something that should hit home.
This has been an excellent series, with some well-told character moments and developments. It is well worth checking out the collection too.
