Review: 78 MPH #3

78 MPH #3 is the final part of this mini-series from Red 5 Comics – out now!

Earth cannot sustain life on its surface, as the atmosphere magnifies solar rays and kills everything on its path… or does it? We got used to being afraid of the things that hide in the dark, but what about the things that hide in the light?

This issue brings this interesting story to a conclusion. Although, to my mind, there is scope for a future return to these characters.

The concept is very well done, and we get some semblances of closure to the story being told. The reasons behind many of the aspects and the doomsday-cult activities that are going on.

In all, the ending is quite satisfying, with the villain of the piece getting his comeuppance, and some good action.

I just feel that there could have been more from this series. I enjoyed what we got, and there are some excellent concepts. The art is consistent and well done with the colour schemes all the way through. I like the way the characters are built and their motivations. I think some decompression would have work well. Perhaps a five-issue series?
