From ICv2:

Europe Comics, a coalition of 13 European comics and graphic novel publishers, has launched the beta version of its website with 9 digital titles.

The coalition was announced this summer (see “European Union, Publishers Launch ‘Europe Comics’”). The first selection of titles comes from the catalogs of French and Belgian publishers Dargaud, Dupuis and Le Lombard. The initial offerings include Raptors by Dufaux and Marini; Larcenet’sOrdinary Victories; Alter Ego  by Lapiere, Renders, and Reynes; and Death to the Tsar  by Nury and Robin. As part of the launch, the website is offering three of the titles for free download.

A second wave of releases will arrive on November 25, including Keepers of Lost Time by Marić and Radovanovic, from Serbian publisher Darkwood; Bitcoin by Preukschat, Busquet, and Ares, from Spanish publisher Dibbuks; andJeremy by Nys,  from Ballon Media.

The catalog will add approximately 15 -20 titles each month.

From Europe Comics:

Europe Comics began as an idea of Franco-Belgian comics agent Mediatoon Licensing. Three years (and a lot of work) later, it evolved into a 13-partner pan-European alliance, supported by the European Commission and held together by the desire to spread the European graphic novel heritage around the world.

The ambitious 13 have set themselves three main targets. First, the creation of a collective digital imprint, replicating European comics variety, richness and originality, in English and digital format, distributed through global and local e-tailers. The Europe Comics catalog is meant for both, the final reader and the foreign publisher interested in licensing in English or other languages. Second, the international exposure of European authors, through author tours and events across Europe and the USA. And last but not least, the steady shaping of a European comics online directory, providing readers and professionals with wide-ranging information such as history of European comics, global calendar of comics events, academic studies, market overviews and more.

Once the targets have been set, the only thing left is to achieve them. So here is the Europe Comics Partnership, which hopes to welcome new members on the way.
