Review: 2000AD – Prog 1808

When I saw this cover I thought it was a reference to the Dirty Frank story…wrong!

The cover is, in fact, a reference to what we see in the Judge Dredd story where things seem to come to a head with Bachman and leading into next weeks story. Bachman is becoming a brilliant character because she is so easy to hate – the Klegg references are very interesting and put me more in mind of ‘The day the law died’ storyline!
The ABC Warriors has some excellent back and forth action between Hammerstein and the President which gets ended by one of the best single page panels and then the story takes a good twist and finishes with another single page panel!
Brass Sun gives us some action with little dialog. It adds to the threat of last weeks suspense and introduces us to someone new – this has potential to be a wide ranging story and can have a whole host of characters.
Dirty Frank has some excellent layouts and continues this surreal adventure with links to the rest of the Judges world. When we think Frank is going to get away with it, he doesn’t. There’s a traditional Dirty Frank escape and we don’t know where this is going next!
Finally The Simping Detective adds a new dimension to the story with escape and a new group introduced to Mega City.
