Some thoughts on this weeks 2000 AD
JUDGE DREDD: LIVE EVIL by Ian Edginton (w) Dave Taylor (a) Annie Parkhouse (l)
The arc completes here, and it was a good ending to it all – kind of bitter/sweet! I like how Dredd and the captive Judge work together, and the ending really leaves it open for something in the future!
BAD COMPANY: TERRORISTS by Peter Milligan (w) Rufus Dayglo (a) Dom Regan (c) Simon Bowland (l)
The 12-part story finishes with a bang! There is all out battle and casualties on all sides. It’s quite a crazy battle, and the ending is very well written. I like the way it was done and the way it was framed. I’m sure we’ll see more of Bad Company in the future!
FUTURE SHOCKS: SUNDAY SCIENTIST by Laura Bailey (w) Paul Williams (a) Ellie De Ville (l)
This is a dark Future Shocks. A little wordy, but the build up is pretty good. Another one where I like the concept and think it could be built on. I like the paranoia building!
BRASS SUN: ENGINE SUMMER by Ian Edginton (w) INJ Culbard (a) Ellie De Ville (l)
Brass Sun will return, but this issue gives us a lot of set up for what is to come – bringing us almost into a circle. The interaction between the characters was well done, and I’m looking forward to the next arc!
ABC WARRIORS: FALLOUT by Pat Mills (w) Clint Langley (a) Annie Parkhouse (l)
A great battle in this issue, with a look to what to expect in the future from with the ABC Warriors. Each one had a time to shine, and I like the way this finished off!
