Some thoughts on this week’s issue of 2000 AD
JUDGE DREDD: NANS OF ANARCHY by Alec Worley (w) Karl Richardson (a) Annie Parkhouse (l)
Finishing the story and it’s a bitter/sweet ending, with some good humour with the Gran gang and Dredd being his usual, serious self. I like the ending, as it is a happy ending of sorts, but it all get wrapped up!
SINISTER DEXTER: THE GANGBUSTERS by Dan Abnett (w) Steve Yeowell (a) John Charles (c) Annie Parkhouse (l)
Continuing the story, the pair are stuck in World War II and the AR is firing live rounds. this issue is all about the set up with the two getting some help from their new/old friend! I like the way this builds up, and the next issue looks to be fun!
ANDERSON, PSI DIVISION: UNDERTOW by Emma Beeby (w) Mike Collins/Cliff Robinson (a) Jose Villarrubia (c) Simon Bowland (l)
Completing the arc and we get an ending, and perhaps some hints towards the future for the Psi’s. I like the way this finished off, and Anderson is making her own way even more now. The Psi’s are going to be low on forces for a while, and I wonder if that is going to lead into something…..
FUTURE SHOCKS: THE PUPPET by James Peaty (w) Nick Dyer (a) Ellie De Ville (l)
A good futuristic story here, with an interesting twist. I like the narration and the build up. A fun future shock!
STRONTIUM DOG: THE SON by John Wagner (w) Carlos Ezquerra (a) Ellie De Ville (l)
alpha finally going to start teaching, and it looks like Kenton is a good student. It’s a good issue, which gives us a look at Alpha’s methods and reasons. Also the different aliens are good. Next issue looks a bit harder, but I’m enjoying this!
