Review – Brigands: Ruin Of Thieves #3

Some thoughts on the third issue of Brigands: Ruin Of Thieves out now from Action Lab: Danger Zone – digitally and in print!

BRIGANDS: RUIN OF THIEVES #3
Writer(s): Ram V
Artist Name(s): Sumit Kumar, ROSH
Cover A – Sumit Kumar
Cover B – Anand Radhakrishnan

A rare moment of quiet has our band of Brigands sharing secrets and stories by fire-light. Even as enemies sniff at their heels, and clouds of war gather on the horizon, the story of the Myros Pendulum is told and the final gambit is brought into play.

Another amazing chapter in the story of the Brigands! This issue has a degree of storytelling. A possible myth behind the comet and more to come from this series. I really enjoyed the storytelling in this issue, it adds a new dimension to the story. The ramifications of last issue seem to be spreading across the land, and I’m sure that will continue through the series. The interactions between the characters is also very interesting, and I look forward to seeing more from them all.

There is a very nice use of a timejump in this issue – albeit a short one, nevertheless, it was a nice technique. This timejump has added something else to the story, and now there is a new mission for the Brigands!
The art is excellent, from the front cover (above) to the scenes in the story. Ancient battles, cities, wastelands and space, all are really well shown, with a degree of flair to the story!

This is a story I am really looking forward to each month – plus I’m looking forward to getting the trade!
