The latest issue of 2000 AD is out now, and here are my thoughts on Prog 2106. Including Judge Dredd, Brink, Skip Tracer, Kingdom & Thargs 3rillers!
A nudge from the future is teased initially – Defoe is returning!
JUDGE DREDD: THE SMALL HOUSE
by Rob Williams (w) Henry Flint (a) Chris Blythe (c) Annie Parkhouse (l)
Things have really ramped up here. We get a look at how Smiley got his claws into Frank and the deaths are lining up. Dredd is really angry and it looks like we’re coming to the end game. Dredd’s reaction to Hershy was interesting and I wonder where this will lead to in the future!
SKIP TRACER: LEGION
by James Peaty (w) Colin MacNeil (a) Dylan Teague (c) Ellie De Ville (l)
We start to get to the bottom of it all. We get an idea about Legion and why he is here now. We also understand what Skip’s brother was doing for the Major. Things are looking bad though as Legion seems to be all powerful! I’m really enjoying this one!
BRINK: HIGH SOCIETY
by Dan Abnett (w) INJ Culbard (a) Simon Bowland (l)
Bridget seems to have talked her way out of trouble – in a really good way. It looks lie she’s getting to the bottom of things and this issue had a nice sequence of her being watched as she works – it really gave a feel for things. I wonder how she will do on the outside?
THARG’S 3RILLERS: INFESTINAUTS ARE GO!
by Arthur Wyatt (w) Pye Parr (a+l)
This looks like a fun read – with nanobots fighting on a different terrain. This is a quite amusing read, and I wonder how it will stretch out over three issues. Mini robots, cleaning infections!
KINGDOM: ALPHA AND OMEGA
by Dan Abnett (w) Richard Elson (a) Abigail Bulmer (c) Ellie De Ville (l)
Things are going to have to speed up. The orbital strike is going to happen quicker than expected, and Numan is one with the ticks now. Gene is still thinking, but it looks like that decision would have to be sped up.
