Review: 2000 AD – Prog 2117

Some thoughts on this weeks 2000 AD – Prog 2117

JUDGE DREDD: MACHINE LAW by John Wagner (w) Colin MacNeil (a) Chris Blythe (c) Annie Parkhouse (l)

This mini-arc completes here as Dredd speaks to Logan about him becoming the next Chief Judge. Logan has his doubts, he thinks it’s too big for him. I also get the impression that Dredd is unsure! Dredd also gets a good chance to show the robot Judges how he does thing. I wonder where this is going!

SKIP TRACER: LOUDER THAN BOMBS by James Peaty (w) Paul Marshall (a) Quinto Winter (c) (a) Ellie De Ville (l)

Skip’s investigation continues. We get a good look at the use of his powers. I really like the timing of this! He also gets a name, and it becomes obvious about Skips tail. I like the build to this, and I wonder where Skip goes from here, or if he will change his methods!

THARG’S 3RILLERS: KEEPER OF SECRETS by Robert Murphy (w) Steven Austin (a) Pippa Mather (c) Ellie De Ville (l)

The final part of this 3hriller, and I like the ending. The idea of there always being a price was well done, and a nice creepy ending. The panic was well done!

BRINK: HIGH SOCIETY by Dan Abnett (w) INJ Culbard (a) Simon Bowland (l)

Bridget seems to be putting things together. All it took was a gas-induced mental breakdown. Although this is talk heavy, this was well done, and moves the overall plot forward well!

JAEGIR: BONEGRINDER by Gordon Rennie (w) Simon Coleby (a) Len O’Grady (c) Annie Parkhouse

Jaegir returns, and we’re back on Nu-Earth! I like this and the location seems extremely problematic. It seems that Jaegir is back doing her old job, hunting down traitors and war criminals. The setting is excellent, and I’m looking forward to where it’s going!
