Archie Comics, who’s app is powered by iVerse Media (Creators of Comics+) have announced that they have already had close to 2 million downloads!
Happy new year, Archie fans! We’ve got a bit of news that’s sure to bring a smile to your faces as we dive into 2011.
As most of you know, Archie’s been very proactive in the digital arena, making tons of classic, new and recent issues and collections available for digital download. It’s part of a concerted effort to make our titles available to as many people on as many platforms as possible to reach as wide an audience. And guess what? It seems to be working.
Just before the end of the year, we were notified by our friends at iVerse that the Archie Comics app was at a little over 1.7 million downloads, inching ever so close to 2 million. Pretty impressive, huh? We’d like to think so.
But why stop there? If you’ve been keeping up with the news while enjoying the holiday break, you also probably noticed that we launched our very own SONIC COMICS app for iPhone, iPod Touch and the iPad. Never a dull moment on this end. You can download the app right here.

It looks like this is just for the app itself rather than individual comics, so those figures would also be interesting – I’m assuming they are quite good!
