ICv2 – Valiant’s QR Voice Variant

A welcome addition to digital use of comics – making them more interactive and linking them to other media!

In a clever use of an emerging technology, Valiant will release a QR Voice Variant edition of X-O Manowar #1, which will incorporate a QR code that allows the character on the cover to speak to the purchaser through his or her mobile device.  The variant will feature art by Jelena Kevic-Djurdjevic, script (for the character who talks in the video accessed using the QR code) by X-O Manowar writer Robert Venditti, and animation of the video by Neal Adams’ Continuity Studios.

To promote the QR Voice Variant, Valiant is distributing a poster to comic stores this week that will demonstrate how the cover feature will work.

Valiant also announced another variant for X-O Manowar #1, the Pullbox Variant, last week (see “Valiant Offers Pullbox Variant”).
