Fund Me Friday – Killing Moon

Killing Moon – Fantasy Graphic Novel

PigDog Press Presents A Sword & Sorcery Epic Featuring Assassins, Dragons, Vampires & Necromancers!

What is Killing Moon?

Nobody wants to be the bad guy, but in a dark fantasy world sometimes you just need your enemy to be dead. That’s where Killing Moon comes in. An elite band of assassins who haven’t yet faced a problem that can’t be solved with artful violence.
This 116-page book collects Killing Moon issues 1-4 and also includes a brand new strip, “The Prequel That Comes At The End”, plus the original version of Killing Moon which last saw print way back in 1985.

Background

Back in 1985 an illustrator called Mark ‘PigDog’ Roche used to try and write and illustrate a post-apocalyptic/fantasy story for a Manchester comic called Totally Alien.
This story was called Moses Valentine, named after the leader of a group of assassins called Killing Moon.

Who’s involved?

6 years ago, PigDog’s younger brother, small press artist Neil ‘Bhuna’ Roche (Vanguard, Massacre for Boys, Zarjaz) decided to take up the challenge to resurrect Moses Valentine and Killing Moon.
Together with Chris Denton (Massacre for Boys, Judge Dredd Magazine, Zenith/Invasion), Darren Stephens (2000 ad, Sonic the Hedgehog, FutureQuake, Phoenix Comics) and Bolt-01 (FutureQuake, Something Wicked, Zarjaz, Dogbreath) the new Killing Moon has placed Moses Valentine slap bang in the middle of a gothic fantasy nightmare.
And there’s more – Some of the UK’s best small press artists and up and coming comic professionals have also contributed to the comic. Names include Steve Austin and Matt Soffe – rising stars of 2000AD, fan favourite Neil McClements – Aces Weekly and Chris Askham – Switchblade have been kind enough to produce guest illustrations which will also be included in the graphic novel.
