The Doctors come face to face with the shocking identity of their deadly foes!

We get an explanation of sorts here – it’s all very timey-whimey, there’s the 3 Doctors, plus…another one. We discover the ‘big bad’ and the reasons behind it – it’s all very plausible, and the main focus in this issue is the Doctors, but really it’s all about the companions as they battle and run to help the Doctors. It’s an interesting story and I still wonder if we are going to see the War Doctor make an appearance! He’s mentioned here, but that is all – It all looks bleak at the end of this penultimate issue, but then, aren’t they all!

Doctor Who: The Tenth Doctor #15

END OF YEAR ONE – SEASON FINALE!

• Gabby, Cindy and the Doctor face their greatest challenge yet! The whole year has been building to this – what state will the Doctor and his companions be left in when the smoke clears?!

• Ancient evil from the heart of the universe!

• An impossible decision!

• Shocks and surprises right down to the last page!

As we come to the end of the series we get the standard end-of-the-universe affair. It’s all very human – even with all the aliens and weird tech. Cindy & Gabby add a human dimension to the story, as well as the others in this action. There are some very human reactions – to aliens, religion and to the situation. There is a callback to a previous Doctor adventure, but you don’t need it to enjoy the story. There is an ending, two in fact, one for the Doctor, Gabby and Cindy – and then one for the future. Role on season 2!
