Review: Grimm Fairy Tales #41

Continuing book trouble with Skye in Grimm Fairy Tales #41 from Zenescope Entertainment.

Skye’s shocking revelation last issue is going to lead her on a quest for information from an unfriendly source. Meanwhile, something has made its way out of the book unbeknownst to Skye and the havoc it may wreak will soon be shown. Be sure not to miss this next issue!

Writer: Dave Franchini
Artwork: Sergio Ariño

The problems keep piling up for Skye. After her search for Shang (still ongoing) and the problems with books, there is still something more.

In this case, there is deciphering the book. That ‘bookends’ this adventure well, with some secrets and some answers. I like the way this story does that.

In between, there is something from the book – well, one of the things. In this case it’s the bearskin of the title. It gives us the action in this issue that it needs.

It’s a good fight and Skye seems pretty evenly matched, until the targets change and then there is help. It is a well done story and choreographed fight.

The twist at the end brings someone back nicely from before, and I like the way it leads up to it.

The art for the issue continues to be well done, especially the fight scenes.
