Superheroine starts Digital Comics Blog!

Valerie D’Orazio from Occasional Superheroine has started a digital comics blog which is looking at some stats about the top downloaded comics.

Analysis of the top 25:

  • 8 are Marvel, 7 are DC, 5 are “Independent,” 3 are Creator-Owned, and 2 are comiXology-branded.
  • Of the Marvel titles, all are $1.99 downloads, not free.
  • Of the DC titles, all are available as free/preview.
  • Of the “Indy” titles, all are available in free/preview form
  • The Marvel titles offer all complete stories or series from the beginning.
  • Its well worth having a look on her thoughts on the matter, and her conclusions are very valid – I hope we will be able to get more data on digital comic sales figures and trends very soon.
