Anthony Zwierzchaczewski talks to David Steinberger – CEO of digital comic site, comiXology.
AZ: It’s been a huge year for comiXology, seemingly coming from nowhere and then writing the book on how to distribute comics digitally. Just to begin, could you give me an overview of the past year, the achievements you’re most proud of and also and disappointments you’ve encountered?
DS: When this year began, our Comics app had been out for six months, and included Marvel. In April, the year changed for the better with the advent of the iPad. The device is a game-changer for digital comics. We’re very, very proud of Guided View, and many of our sales come from handheld devices. But the iPad just has a closer-to-the-real-thing feel for comics.
