Review: 2000AD – Prog 1783

Prog 1783 continues the rise of the Dark Judges, more Time Twisters and more!

First of all, I have to say I really like the cover – this is a classic Dredd/2000AD cover!

Eve of Destruction continues with the Dark Judges taking a bit of a back seat here. This is by no means a bad thing as there is so much happening that to bring them in totally at this stage will be over the top. With the Block Wars and the virus causing the Judges enough trouble the slow build to them can wait!

Flesh: Midnight Cowboys gives us a heady mix of time travel, cowboys, dinosaurs and betrayal! Although I only came in the middle of this series I’m really enjoying it. I honestly have no idea whats going to happen next!

I can say that I initially didn’t get into The Zaucer of Zilk – which is fine and one of the appeals of 2000AD, but I am now a fan. The story is simple enough, but dropped into the crazy realm and the bright art, you really get a good story – roll on the showdown next week!

We’ve got another Time Twisters this week, which somehow manages to be darker than last weeks. The setting and the style of the art are perfectly matched in this grim tale!

Finally Cadet Anderson finds her perp, and loses him in Algol there’s no sign of the forboding I alluded to  last week, but maybe soon!

Another strong issue from 2000AD and don’t forget you can get it digitall at 2000ADonline.com
