Digital Comics Review: Universe #1

From the home of The Private Eye, there is a new DRM-Free digital comic – Universe!

I think the cover says it all – spectacular! I really enjoyed this issue, out gave me a real'Future Shocks' vibe. From the explanation at the end of the story this bi-monthly series this are to be one-shot stories which will be loosely interlinked with each other.

Albert Monteys may not be a known name in comics, except in Europe, but this is a real different comic, which the digital medium works well. The art is fantastic, and there are some nice layouts which are not standard. The widescreen aspect really helps to add to the storytelling technique.

The color scheme is also unique with a changing palette across the story.

Ah, yes, the story. Set I the future, Tommy is sent back in time to the beginning of time to brand the emerging atoms with his company logo. We follow him over 17 Billion Years (which is only a few minutes for those who sent him!)

As the story progresses we get how Tommy reacts to the life he's leading which all finishes off in a fun conclusion!

As with all the Panel Syndicate titles, this is a pay what you want, and is well worth some of your dollars!
