Reviews: Lumberjanes & Skybourne

Lumberjanes #31 & Skybourne #2

My thoughts on two digital comics from Boom! Studios

The Lumberjanes and gang seem to be getting to the bottom of the mystery – as well as some deep seated issues being brought out between the gods and the gorgons! There’s a fair amount of action here and the camp crew have to escape from the giant birds that can turn people to stone! As well as that we get some clues behind who may be behind all of this – and then we get teh ending, just as I was getting it all, it has left me totally confused! Enjoyable though!

After last issues death, we get another brother and he is the one featured right at the beginning of the first issue. I wouldn’t say he has a death wish, but he does seem tired of living as we learn what he’s been up to all these years. His back and forth with the vatican representative is fun, as is his introduction to his old/new home. Of course it’s not that easy and he seems a little ‘rusty’ in his old skills, so there must be a training montage coming up! Meanwhile, Merlin seems to be making his play, and he’s got some big guns on his side already! This is a highly entertaining read, with some nice crisp art to go with it!
