A slick move by Graphicly, which is going to push my digital comics buying over the edge!
Yesterday, iPhone and iPad owners excitingly downloaded and installed iOS 5, the latest version of the operating system for those devices. In addition to the all the great updates, iOS 5 includes the rollout of the Newsstand, a way to easily subscribe to magazines and other periodical content. Seems like a great place for comics, don’t you think? We think so too!
We’re extremely excited today to announce that Graphicly is the first and only provider of monthly comics available on the Newsstand in iOS 5.  We’ve teamed up with leading comics publishers, Image Comics and BOOM! Studios to make some of the best ongoing series available for subscription on the Newsstand in iOS 5.  Today, you can go and purchase subscriptions for the following books:
The Newsstand versions of these comics provide a brand new, Graphicly powered interface for iOS 5 that we’re immensely proud of.  You’ll be able to read your comics via the title specific application, and thanks to the Newsstand, you’ll automatically receive each issue as it’s released, same day as print! You don’t need to manually download the issue, it gets delivered directly to your iPad! Doesn’t get easier to enjoy your comics than that!
If you don’t read any of the above titles, now seems like a great time to jump on, especially since all the issues for each title are easily accessible from within the app! These are just the first titles that we’ve released to the Newsstand. Comic fans can expect even more titles to be rolled out soon!
