Review: Machine Girl #1

A new series from Red 5 Comics, out now, here are my thoughts.

In a galaxy far, far away… There is a planet full of exotic interplanetary people. All of them living together in a dangerous multicultural world. And right there in the middle there is Megan! A young human girl fighting her way up on the deadly arena of the Intergalactic Mixed Battling Arts as she searches for her origins and other beings like her while she is obsessed with a mysterious, long forgotten planet: Earth.

This story hits the ground running! Starting off with a well choreographed fight scene. Highlighting the different alien types in this story. I like the commentary as we go on in the fight. After that, we get an origin of our Machine Girl. It’s well told, like a documentary.
The relationship Megan as with her ‘father’ is very interesting – especially his age!
This told the story really well and the threat of things happening are well told – I wonder where that side of it is going?
Megan is an interesting character, and her curiosity is well told – as is her impulsiveness!
The art is excellent, with some weird and wonderful aliens and scenes. The colouring is excellent too!

I’ll be looking out for #2!
