Review: The Adventures Of Lightning Marval #1

Out now on DriveThruComics and previewed last week. From Will Lill Comics here is The Adventures Of Lightning Marval #1.

Enjoy the adventures as millionaire Freddie Fruitt summons his other half to keep his girlfriend, television reporter Lisa Teapot, and the other citizens of Happytoe, Oregon safe from the evil villain Pookah Dah Ha and The Armpit. Along the way he encounters new allies and a rogues’ gallery of bad guys.

This was a daft read. Enjoyable though. I liked the concept and the villains. There are some interesting points too.

Lightning Marval has some similarities on existing heroes that you may know. He has superpowers and a secret identity. And there are some similar traits. I like the way that this issue builds everything up.

This may be aimed at a younger age group, but there is still a degree of some fun mystery going on here. Who is Pookah Dah Ha and The Armpit? And what is happening here? The secret identity stuff works well in a fun way and I like the way it builds up across the issue.

The issue introduces some of the characters – and the setting – really well. There looks to be a nice supporting cast.

The art is fun, even in black and white, and I enjoyed the action scenes.

This is a good read and fund to check out.
