Review: 2000 AD – Prog 2223

Out now is the latest 2000 AD from Rebellion, this is Prog 2223.

Cadet Dredd: Who Killed Captain Cookies by Kenneth Niemand (w) PJ Holden (a) Quinton Winter (c) Annie Parkhouse (l)

Some interesting background of not just Captain Cookies and Chimpskey. I enjoyed this and the attack with the hallucinations. Dredd may cause some problems though…

Nakka of the S.T.A.R.S. by Brendan Mccarthy (art+story) Roger Langridge (script) Len O’Grady, Brendan McCarthy (c) Annie Parkhouse (l)

The second part of this 3hriller, and I like the investigation. Mix that with the robots, and it works really well. I like the twist at the end as we move towards the conclusion.

Thistlebone: Poisoned Roots by TC Eglington (w) Simon Davies (a) Simon Bowland (l)

Adding in some of the folklore, and to the characters in the story. This was a slower issue, but with a lot going on. I like the change in the art style too.

Proteus Vex: The Shadow Chancellor by Mike Carroll (w) Jake Lynch (a) Jim Boswell (c) Simon Bowland (l)

Concluding this story – hopefully, we’ll see more in the future. This was an interesting conclusion and has some good parts. Everything wrapped up well.

Durham Red: Served Cold by Alec Worley (w) Ben Willsher (a) Jim Campbell (l)

Concluding this arc, hopefully we’ll see more of this in the future. I like the way it all runs out. Red is an interesting character – I like her thoughts and methods here.
