Review: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #118

A new arc begins here in this weeks issue – this is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #118 from IDW Publishing.

The Shredder returns! Oroku Saki has been to Hell and back, but will he now come to the Turtles as friend or foe? Meanwhile, April makes a stand against Baxter Stockman– with dangerous consequences.

Wrapping things up nicely from the previous arc, this was an entertaining read.

The return of Saki was very interesting, and I look forward to seeing where his story leads. His interactions with the family were very subtle and well done. His little nudges in the right direction were interesting, and I like the way his additions are building the story.

In addition to these little hints, we get to see what April is up to – her investigations were bound to get her in trouble, and Stockman was always going to cause problems. The build as to what those problems are (and his partners) has been well done, and many issues in the making.

I really enjoyed the art style in this story – Saki’s fading in and out was excellently done, and the different expressions by all the family were excellent.

New things are building up here, and this is an excellent start.
