Review: 2000 AD – Prog 2240

Out this week from Rebellion – my thoughts on 2000 AD – Prog 2240:

An action packed cover by Toby Willsmer

Judge Dredd: Now That’s What I Call Justice! by John Wagner (w) John Higgins (a) Sally Hurst (c) Annie Parkhouse (l)

An interesting start to a new arc. There is a lot to take in here, and I’m interested to see where this mystery is going. The introduction was interesting, and I wonder where it will fit in to the more gruesome aspects of the story.

Aquila: The Rivers of Hades, Book One by Gordon Rennie (w) Patrick Goddard (a) Dylan Teague (c) Annie Parkhouse (l)

A good buffer issue until the next battle. We learn more of Hades, and see more of the threat against Aquila and his group. I like the comment about the slaves.

Department K: Cosmic Chaos by Rory McConville (w) Dan Cornwell (a) Len O’Grady (c) Simon Bowland (l)

Things are moving on interestingly. I like the Judges inside the beast, and I think there is still a lot to learn here. The next issue will be interesting.

Skip Tracer: Eden by James Peaty (w) Paul Marshall (a) Dylan Teague (c) Jim Campbell (l)

Well, that was interesting. There is trouble coming and in this issue, you can see why. The type of trouble is interesting and will be causing a lot of trouble. I like the build in this issue.

Chimpsky’s Law: The Talented Mr Chimpsky by Kenneth Niemand (w) PJ Holden (a) Chris Blythe (c) Simon Bowland (l)

A good finish to a fantastic story. The tease for the future is interesting. Other than that, things wrapped up nicely. Even a bit of redemption. Hopefully, we will see more of Chimpsky soon.
