Judge Dredd: An Honest Man by Kenneth Niemand (w) Tom Foster (a) Chris Blythe (c) Annie Parkhouse (l)
A good finish to the arc, with a different sort of punishment. I liked the action and the way this finish was told. There is a scope for more, but I think it would be for the best if there wasn’t.
Hope: In The Shadows by Guy Adams (w) Jimmy Broxton (a) Jim Campbell (l)
This was a dark and crazy issue, with some really strange goings-on. I like the build though and the finish means we are going to hopefully get some answers next issue. I loved the art in this issue too.
Skip Tracer: Valhalla by James Peaty (w) Paul Marshall (a) Dylan Teague (c) Simon Bowland (l)
A bit of a time jump, and I like that idea. This is a tease of an opening, with Skip and his daughter trying to stay hidden. That doesn’t always work and there are issues here. Plus someone has spotted them!
Terror Tales: Last Days at Porpoise Place by John Tomlinson (w) Stewart K. Moore (a) Annie Parkhouse (l)
A very classic terror tale, with some twisty storytelling. I like the build to all this, but I confess, I could see where it was leading at the halfway mark.
Brink: Mercury Retrograde by Dan Abnett (w) INJ Culbard (a) Simon Bowland (l)
Things seem to be ramping up here, and I was caught out on this. I’d forgotten about the death, but this brings it all back. This was an intriguing issue.
