Digital Spotlight: Drone

In the near future, the United States transforms warfare by testing lethal remote-controlled robotic drones on the front lines. To the world’s other powers, the technology is something to be coveted and stolen. To a group of stateside fun-loving hackers, it is the ultimate video game. As featured in FCBD 2009!

Drone 1

Drone by Red5 Comics is available on the Comixology App as 4 issues in a limited series. The series is well drawn and smoothly plotted out. It’s a simple idea which works well and fits into today’s current global situation. Over the four issues the characters and their motivations are well defined and it has a definite ending – which although is slightly predictable, leaves things open for a sequel to the series. Red5 seem to be doing very well out of Comixology – increasing their global brand recognition. With 11 series and 62 comics available on mobile devices the only way is up for them!
I would also recommend Atomic Robo, We Kill Monsters and ZMD: Zombie of Mass Destruction.
Drone is an excellent all-ages comic which is worth the money for a fun read.
