Review: 2000 AD Prog 1957

This weeks 2000 AD – Prog 1957 – reviewed

1957

We kick off with another one-shot story with Judge Dredd in That Extra Mile – taking the fad of extreme running and adding an extra Mega City One dimension to it. Joggers and organ leggers – what could go wrong! It’s a funny tale with a twisted ending to it. The thought of Dredd being spurned on with his running by a runner with no arms and legs adds to the fun!

Defoe features more attacks by the Reeks in the London Hanged. We discover more about the ‘Vizards’ and some of there powers, we also get more of a problematic situation Defoe is getting into as he looks to discover the traitor!

Next up in Night Shifts we get a Terror Tales with a disturbing twist – not the sort of terror ‘disturbing’ you would be thinking of though. It’s a nice piece of filler here, which takes us away from the seriousness of the last story too! Brrr!

In Brass Sun: Motor Head things seem to take a darker turn as Wren risks being found out or snitched on. Septimus takes matters into his own hands and seems to have a plan, but is he playing into their opponents hands?

Finally the Bad Company continue their escape to the penal planet in First Casualties where the meds are starting to wear off. Danny starts to look at the rest of Bad Company with different eyes and Kano seems to be the worst of all of them – what’s going on?
