Review – Transformers: War’s End #4

From IDW Publishing comes the final part to this Transformers spinoff, with the lead up to the end of the series run. this is Transformers: War’s End #4.

End of the line! Exarchon makes his final push to claim all Cybertron as his own. Can a ragtag group of Autobots and Decepticons working in parallel defeat one of Cybertron’s all-time greatest threats? And what happens if they fail and Exarchon gets his hands on the sparks he needs to be unbeatable?

Completing this part of the story and leading into next month’s grand finale, we get a really good extra-long issue.

Exarchon is really pushing here, and we get to find out what his ultimate plan is. It’s quite mad, and it’s one of those plans that just could work. I like the way that it builds up and the fact that there are those supporting Exarchon.

The shaky alliance between the Autobots and Decepticons continues to be highly entertaining – even with the world-as-we-know-it threat that is happening around them. Nevertheless, there is some excellent action in this issue, with some well-done aspects and a great build and tension.

There is some excellent artwork going on here, making all of the characters fit in, and working with the action (and effects) really well. I like the difference between some of the bots and the parts with both Exarchon and the Constructicons works well.

This was a great finish to the mini-series and now we are ready for the end.
