Review: Rise of the Djinn #2

At the mid-point of this mini-series from Zenescope Entertainment. This is Rise Of The Djinn #2

After Tamara makes a miraculous recovery after being caught in a massive explosion, the mysterious Shedim tells her how she survived.  And the stunning revelation shakes her to the core of her very being…and BEYOND!

Writer: Kevin Grevioux
Artwork: Elmo Bondoc

At this middle issue and there is a lot packed in. Not only do we get a fair amount of action, but a lot more packed in.

First of all, through various means we get a lot more background to this war between the Djinn factions. I like the way this was laid out as it gives us a good teaching moment and adds in the threat as some characters.

On to of that there is the action, which is well done and had some decent magic aspects.

When we get to the more mundane sections – like in the police station – the plot is driven on well.

This is a good middle issue with a lot going on and a decent cliffhanger at the end. The characters are well defined and some nice art to go with it.
