Review – Robyn Hood: Shadows Of The Past

From Zenescope Entertainment now is a new one-shot, this is Robyn Hood: Shadows Of The Past.

Robyn learns the truth about her past and the darkness connected to it. Pulled into the darkest of realms, it will take all of her training to defeat the evil that lays claim to her soul, and escape from the Shadowlands.

This issue feels like an ending, but also a new beginning.

Robyn has long been called the ‘Child Of Darkness’ and recently we have had hints and reasons as to why that is. This issue goes some way to redress that situation and establish a new status quo for the archer.

Introducing a new character – albeit temporarily – and adding some answers to questions we didn’t know we had. Nevertheless we get some good background on not only the early times of Robyn (being a baby and all that) but also some of her most recent trials and tribulations.

It is well told, with some interesting flashbacks and a look into somewhere darker and those who dwell there. There is plenty of action too, with dark gods and demons to fight. The issue shows this off well and has some good colour schemes, some are shown off on the variant covers.

What next for Robyn?
